Reply with quote | #1 | This is my 2002 Jaguar XJ8 with car audio components from Power Acoustik and Pyle. I've also added a Magellan 1200 GPS and KAT radar detector.
I've tried my hardest to keep the inside looking stock, as for the trunk... You'll see in the pictures.
This is my trunk. I've installed 2 amplifiers. Power Acoustik's PS2-2600, 2600 watt amplifier to drive my 2, 10 inch Power Acoustik Power 2 Series subwoofers (Tons of bass!). Also, Pyle's Pyle Dryver PLAD-412, 1000 watt amplifier to power my 6 1/2 inch Pyle Dryver component speakers, which sound great! I've also added Power Acoustik's Cap-Cell 400 which works as a capacitor and battery (fused together). The Cap-Cell delivers extra power to the entire system when it needs it most. Currently I have over 14 amps of power coming from my stock battery in to the system. I call my system, "The Beast". All products from Cheap For Me.com.

This is a night picture with the system illuminated. I've also added a green neon tube light in front of the subwoofers to match the color of the Jaguar. It looks really nice.

Let's get a closer look at each component.
Power Acoustik Cap-Cell 400
Power Acoustik recently unleashed these. My gut feeling told me that Power Acoustik created a product better than a "normal" capacitor, and I was right. The Cap-Cell 400 is currently installed to offer power to both the Power Acoustik and Pyle Dryver amplifiers. The Jaguar has a lot of power options, and whether my headlights are on and I'm using a lot of power from the battery for my other electronics sources throughout the car, the Cap-Cell 400 keeps my music playing loud without "fading" or "dimming" out the sound (and headlights). The music always plays hard and loud.
Pyle Dryver PLAD-413 Amplifier
The Pyle Dryver PLAD-413 amplifier is rated at 100 watts RMS x 4 channels. I'm currently using this to power my 4, 6 1/2 inch Pyle Dryver component speakers I've installed in the front and rear doors. With the gain (volume level) turned up not even half way on this amplifier, it delivers extremely powerful, clean and detailed sound that I truly love. It's all about Pyle DRYVER.
Power Acoustik PS2-2600 Amplifier
The Power Acoustik PS2-2600 amplifier is running in 2-channel mode at 2-ohm and producing close to 1000 watts of continuous power to my Power Acoustik, Power 2 Series, 10 inch subwoofers. The Jaguar is very well insulated, but the bass has no problem what so ever traveling in to the front of the vehicle. I've set the gains and bass boost higher on this amplifier and the subwoofers (getting roughly 450 watts each) love every watt they receive.
Power Acoustik Power 2 Series 10 Inch Subwoofers
The Power Acoustik Power 2 Series 10 inch subwoofers are rated at 450 watts of RMS power handling, each one. I'm making sure my Power Acoustik PS2-2600 watt amplifier is driving as much power as it can in to these "earth quake, ground shaking" subwoofers as possible. Very impressive bass and power handling. Small enclosure used, and sounds perfect with any type of music choice (Rock, Hip/Hop, ect). These subwoofers hit impressively loud and hard, almost begging for more power.
Pyle Dryver 6 1/2 inch Component Speaker Crossovers
I chose to mount the crossovers for the Pyle Dryver 6 1/2 inch speakers in front of the Power Acoustik PS2-2600 amplifier, in the trunk. The reason I mounted these here, is because I thought it looked cooler (With everything together). You could really mount these any where you'd like (closer to the speakers).
Pyle Dryver PLDV6K 6 1/2 Inch Component Speakers

I've custom installed the Pyle Dryver PLDV6K 6 1/2 inch component speakers behind the door panels to keep everything looking stock, and I've also easily replaced the factory tweeters with Pyle Dryver's PLDV6K tweeters. These speakers and tweeters seriously produce great mids and highs. It's as if my Jaguar has a Live Concert playing inside of it every time I crank the volume up. Each speaker is rated at 120 watts RMS power and the tweeters are rated at 50 watts RMS power. Although the Gain for the Pyle Dryver amplifier isn't even turned up half way, these speakers (in the front and rear doors) produce very detailed, clear and loud sound. I'm very impressed.
Factory Radio Kept to Look Stock
Because I chose to keep the factory radio, as I wanted to keep the Jaguar looking stock, I had to purchase a converter and install it behind the radio so the RCA cables from the amps could connect to it. It's nice to have every thing looking stock. When anyone sits inside the car, they never expect the amazing sound the stereo produces from the Power Acoustik and Pyle components. And no one believes that my stereo sounds better than "Over Expensive Brands" like Rockford Fosgate, Infinity, Polk Audio, ect. Of course I had to add my MP3 player to the whole mix. I use a tape adapter from Jensen to play the MP3 music through the sound system and it sounds great (Inexpensive add on that's worth it).
Magellan GPS 1200 and KAT Radar Detector
The Magellan GPS 1200 (being one of the cheaper models) works great. Even if you accomplish getting lost with this unit, within seconds it re-routes you back on track. It gives you warnings before each turn and uses a split screen to clearly show you the road you need to turn on to while the other side displays the normal GPS road map. No problems with this GPS unit, It's a great buy. The KAT radar detector works as it should. I usually have this on when I'm traveling on high ways as I tend to "speed" (For some reason the Jaguar feels like it's going 50 mph when I'm going 70 - 80 mph, very smooth, nice ride). When the radar detector goes off I always slow down and sure enough a police officer is off to the side running radar up ahead of me. When I see the police officer first, as I'm speeding and the radar detector doesn't go off, I still slow down but I know the police officer is not currently running radar (he or she is just sitting there).
That's my 2002 Jaguar XJ8 with trusted Cheap For Me.com car electronics installed. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed sharing.
